Sunglasses And how to add shadow to it with Photoshop

Sunglasses or sun glasses are a form of protective eyewear designed primarily to prevent bright sunlight and high-energy visible light from damaging or discomforting the eyes. They also help cancel out harmful ultraviolet radiation (UV) rays from the sun and blue light, which can cause several serious eye problems . They can sometimes also function as a visual aid .


Ultraviolet (UV) light is electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength shorter than that of visible light, but longer than X-rays, in the range 10 nm to 400 nm, and energies from 3eV to 124 eV. It is named because the spectrum consists of electromagnetic waves with frequencies higher than those that humans identify as the color violet.
Although ultraviolet is invisible to the human eye, most people are aware of the effects of UV through the painful condition of sunburn, but the UV spectrum has many other effects, both beneficial and damaging, to human health.


Functions of the sunglasses :

* Visual clarity and comfort ,

Sunglasses can improve visual comfort and visual clarity by protecting the eye from glare [ Glare is difficulty seeing in the presence of bright light such as direct or reflected sunlight or artificial light such as car headlamps at night.] 

* Protection
Sunglasses offer protection against excessive exposure to light, including its visible and invisible components.
 

* Further functions of sunglasses
   To be used in sports ,space ,and  under water .






Applying the shadow to the sunglasses with photoshop manipulation .


Open the docuent [the picture of the eyeglasses ] in Photoshop .

1. Place the picture you want to add as a reflection to the eyeglasses .[File menu -Place] 
2. Select the layer of the sunglasses ,and with the Quick Selection Tool select the lenses of the sunglasses. and refine it [ Refine Button ] for a nice even selection. 
3. Select the layer of the picture of the shadow ,then add vector mask ( from the Layers Palette),all the picture will hide exept for the selected area .If you like to change the position of the picture on the shades  or move the independently and leave the ask in place unlock betwwen the icons to free it and select the picture icon and use  the Move Tool to move the picture.
4. To add realistic view to the picture select the icon of the picture then ,go to Filter menu and select Distort - Pinch to give the look of lens convexity.( give it -14)
5. Apply layer style - Inner Shadow and  do as whatyou can see in the diagram .
6. Reduce the layer opacity to 50% .
7. Duplicate the layer[ select the layer ,then right click it and select Duplicate layer ] .In the copy layer hide the effect of the inner shadow by clicking the eye icon and change the blending mode of the layer to Multiply to give the appearance of dark glasses.
8.  Save your work .
